Watching

I know you like to watch. Everyone does it, even you; you spot a stranger on the subway and you imagine what kind of life they are living, where they come from and where they are going. But norwegians are private people. To be caught observing a stranger is as big of an invasion of privacy as sitting down next to someone you don’t know. Still, we let our eyes wander when we think nobody is watching. Have you ever considered where the line between observation and voyuerism is?

Inspired by how I observe the world around me, I wanted to explore exactly this - what was I comfortable with? Where did I feel like I was crossing this invisible line? In this project I’ve experimented with using an old dv-camera.
